CHILD - Child Injury Led Design

Objectives

The objectives of the CHILD project are to increase the level of knowledge about child occupant safety and to use this knowledge in the applications of child restraint design, evaluation, testing and regulation.

Main achievements

The outputs will include an invaluable source of real-world crash injury data, real and virtual reconstructions of such cases, child based simulation methods and tools, further evaluation of the Q dummies and implementation of a Q0, and child injury criteria risk curves for different body segments and different ages.
